Tomatoes
I saved some seed from some tomatoes I bought last year as they were delicious, they are growing well now but I was wondering, will they come true to the variety of tomato I saved the seed from?

This is because you only have the one variety of tomato Tulsalady. A commercial tomato grower will have several and not be worried if a, for example, moneymaker fertilises an Ailsa Craig. It makes no odds to the tomatoes that grow...

MG from the way Anitamay spoke she is not a commercial grower.By the way i grow three varieties every year , with no problems .....

But... she bought her tomato plants last year and saved the seed from... She clearly states 'I saved some seed from some tomatoes I bought last year as they were delicious' Thus there is no knowing whether the toms will grow but unlikely to!
And are you sure your toms are not cross breeding?

No they are not cross breeding, i have no problems, but of course it is entirely up to Anitamay what she chooses to do...It would be interesting to hear other members views on this question ....

Absolutely up to Anitamay what she does, she asked if they would come true, I've explained why it is unlikely.

Not necessarily, depends if they were pollenated by the same type of tomato. The nurseries which grow for seed make sure there can't be any cross pollination the commercial growers who are growing as a crop don't worry about that.
