Plant-A-Lamp

Essex, United Kingdom

I have a lamp that you can turn on and off, and dim, just by touching the leaves of the plants in the bowl. Has anyone got suggestions for plants to try? So far I have had success with Boston ivy, Spider plant, Calathea and I think it is called Plectranthus. Need to like warm rooms and poor light, and not get too tall. I thought of a tiny ivy, but the variegated ones would probably loose their colours.
I have had it for several years, and it has worked beautifully, although should you allow the soil in the pot to dry out, it does become a little cranky and you have to adjust it!

I had one of these YEARS ago and have been longing for another.
Meyer Bees https://meyerbees.com/product/plant-a-lamp/
has a kit to turn your own potted plant into a lamp. I've just made one and it actually works - plus I get to use my own pretty pottery.
