Does anyone know why my rhubarb stalks are very sort and limp, the plants are about 2 years old. Could it be due to lack of water?

I think it could well be lack of water. I had huge thick sticks of rhubarb in april which i picked - now they are thinner, floppier and have not grown much at all!
