I have a laburnum tree age unknown but here when we moved in 6 years ago, but it is not old, it only has 3 flowers each year, Used loads of potash this spring to try and kick it into action, and got 5 folowers! Any ideas?

Thanks for this, it is in full sun, unfortunately cannot top dress because it is in a part of garden top dressed with bark - guess I`ll just have to accept 5 flowers!

I have a Laburnum Vossi planted in clay soil and mine didnt flower well when I first planted it, after 3-4 years I was told by a tree grower to top dress it with ericaceous compost twice a year and it has flowered profusely ever since I recently posted photos of it. The other thing is it in full sun? as they prefer this.
