I want to move my acer tree as its in the way...its growing out and is about 4ft wide. When is the best time to move it?

Right! Ive just been down the garden and made some room for it ready for the move lol!
Its really lovely down the garden at this time, quiet and the wind has died down, very calm.

Funny you should say that about its being calm and less windy - I've observed for the last three weeks at least that its quite breezy all day, and then it drops away an hour or so before dusk - I'm assuming climate change is responsible for the increased daily levels of breeze. I notice it because I want to spray certain plants when its not windy...

Even our howling gales settle back by evening, then rear up again in the morning... No idea why and would an explanation.

I reckon its climate change, MG - I've lived here with plants on a balcony for 11 years, and in the last five, summer gales or strong breeze have been an issue, sometimes ripping up the bedding before the autumn - and that never used to happen before.
