A friend has a lovely pink peace lily. She feel it is needing to be repotted can anyone give advice on how to do this. Thank you in anticipation.

That isn't Spathiphyllum wallisii it is the pink version of Anthurium andreanum. Will 'flower' for months and does not mind being under potted. When the flowers are over she can repot and divide as well if necessary.

Thank you Sbg and Moongrower. Any instructions re potting compost - acid or specialist and splitting - just pull apart?

Just good quality potting compost so far as I know, preferably peat free. I've never split myself but assume it is pull apart.

I cut mine in half with the breadknife - takes a little while to recover, best done in spring.

I'll give it a go next year Bamboo.

Thank you both Mg and Bamboo. Once I was given the name I had a look around the internet. Apparently it is a tropical climber and when it develops aeriel roots you can cut that part off and pot it up.

My houseplant book says to split at repotting time - once a year in spring. I must say this pink one is rather lovely - mine's the usual red one.

Thank you Bamboo I will let her know. That sounds the most straight forward route as she is not an experienced gardener but she does seem to have green fingers when it comes to house plants.

i'd wait until it has finished flowering.
