Another copper beech question from me!! My 30+ hedging plants have finally burst forth and thanks to all the advice from you guys, you were right! I say burst forth, but two (and the two are smack together in the middle of the row!!) have failed to sign any sign of budding/growth and I am assuming that they aren't going to make it! My question is, do I replace them now with say, a couple of potted beech from the garden centre so that they will keep pace with the growth that the others achieve over the coming months or do I leave until the leaves go brown etc and replace them about October time?

Our beech hedge never comes into leaf uniformly. Don't give up yet.
