Every year my honeysuckle has hundreds of flower buds, but as they mature, the petals wither and drop off. This year I've investigated further and discovered that if I open up a petal, inside there is a white/cream grub about 1cm long with a brown head and lots of black eggs .
What is it and how can I get rid of it please? The plant would be spectacular but for this problem.

I have a similar problem with my Honeysuckle, it forms loads of buds but then they drop off. I'm going to look and see if there are any critters in there!! Thanks for raising the question.....hope someone has an answer!
