aquiligas are you able to split them and when is the besty time to do it, if not what do you do with them when they get too big

You can split them Beattie - but its a risky business, and not something I'd attempt - means splitting the tap root, and can only be done on large, mature plants and preferably in early spring or autumn.

I regulary split mature Aqualigias, I do it when the leaves are beginning to show their true shape, I dig up the clump, then with finger and thumbs get into the rootball of the plant and tug out lumps. As long as there are plenty of roots on each section, you should not have a problem. Replant immediately in correct position and keep watered until new life shows through.

No you can't split aquiligias. They grow readily from seed, if you want more, just let them self seed. If the plant is too big, you could cut it back a bit, but really it's best left alone. I just take off the old stems when they die off.
