dear dr,bob i live in west suffolk.we bought these chrysants from our local garden centre,and i would like to keep for next year.we live in the countryside,at the moment they are still in their pots.any advice would be welcome.thank you ---ethel.

Hello Ethel,
Cut the stalks down to about 6ins. Clean off any dead leaves. They will live in a cool greenhouse. Cover with fleece or newspaper in cold weather. Water sparingly.
In March the new growth will start, you could take cuttings, but they will still grow from the stool.
If you have no greenhouse, cover with a cloche and do the same.
