my phormium cream delight has wilted down from last years frost and only a few shoots regrowing, what do we do with the plants old dead growth etc
Does the root ball need to be slightly wet or dry ?

I lost 3 phormium in my front garden and one huge one in my back garden this year Philippa, My 2 yellow wave are coming back to life :)))
Cut the dead growth out at ground level, then wait to see what happens, As there is new growth I can safely say, Its alive lol..

Pull or cut off anything that's dead, dying, or generally tatty at the base. Give it one feed with something like Miracle Gro general purpose (assuming its in the ground) and keep watered if necessary, and wait and see what happens.
