When a plant bolts, what does it mean?




Answers

 

Usually used about vegetables - an example would be, say cabbage - should form good leaves, but may suddenly decide to shoot up and start flowering, at which point it's said to have bolted.

Broccoli and Cauliflower, when the curds open up and produce yellow flowers, Parsley, when the head of white flowers suddenly appears, etc.
