Hi, Hydrangea question.

I have two hydranges. 1 in the ground and another in a pot that I need to repot. Does the one in the pot need a different compost to multi purpose as I have heard that they like acidic soils.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

As its a blue one, you can use ericaceous compost to keep it that colour.

Thanks Bamboo. Eracious compsot is sold at my local B&Q as I have seen all the different types whren I buythe multi purpose (Peats free of course) comspot.

I will pick some up when the weather brightens up a bit and repot.

Thanks again.

Be careful when buying ericaceous compost if you avoid peat, as I do - most ericaceous composts do contain peat. Some companies, Vital Earth for instance, produce a peat-free ericaceous, but you may struggle able to find that in B&Q.
