I have a problem with my laurel bushes the new shoots have got a white powdery mildew on the underside of the leaf and the new leaves are all crinkled could you please tell me what it is and the reason for it.Is there anything I can do for this.

The crinkling may be from insects that have nibbled the embryo leaves before they sprouted. Hopefully the next batch of leaves will be OK. Or spray with a systemic insecticide such as Provado Ultimate Bug Killer.

It is powdery mildew, more apparent in this dry weather, you can spray with a fungicide or cut the diseased growth off and burn it.
