I recently bought a dicksonia sellownia tree and re-potted it in a larger pot on the patio,the fronds are turning brown is this usual,In the new pot i just filled it with multi purpose compost

This one is south american in origin, from the tropical rainforests. Needs shade and lots and lots of water, sprayed on the trunk at least daily, though the soil its planted in should be fairly free draining. Do not water into the crown at the top, just on the trunk. Should be planted with as little of its trunk as possible actually in the soil, just enough to keep it upright. May need extra protection during winter, some controversy about its hardiness in frosty conditions.
