have a yellowy green sambucus its 5 or 6 ft tall there is growth at top but not much on rest of stems should i prune it to make it bush and bulk up a bit. thanks guys.

Lol...I hack my two back all the time...just to keep their shape in check...and they've both flowered this year despite being hacked some weeks ago!

Yes do, they can be hacked back and still send up more growth this year !
