I can see you are in the UK but is the plant also here. At first sight I thought Bougainvillea not sure about the spelling but if it is I would think it has been pruned as a bonsai. As noseyp says maybe the surroundings are a clue. A close up of the flowers would help a great deal if that is possible.

It's a little hard to see, but they look like Phalaenopsis Orchids. I can't quite tell if it is a cut flower arrangement, or a very clever composite of live plants, in pots, on a framework. Such constructions are normally intended to be temporary, replaced when the blooms pass their prime.

i believe your right tugbreth as it looks like quit an expensive quality place wear theres lots of money. the guests would never know as the flowers would be changed when knowone is there giving the impression of one plant . stunning arangment thow if it is one .
