Can I give my Verbena Bonariensis the Chelsea Chop?
With all the rain at the weekend my nearly 6ft Verbena Bonariensis has been severly battered. I was think about giving it a slightly belated Chelsea Chop. Would it flower again later this year if I just cut it by 50%?
Has anyone done this and had good results?
Thanks

I have to stake mine as they do grow so tall, I dont think you will have flowers of any real interest this year if you do it now, but if they are ruined anyway?

It may all depend on the weather - if we get a prolonged good warm spell, I still think you are in with a chance.

I would say yes, but wait for a few more and wiser opinions. I think that now is early enough for it to flower again.
