mine is now dead and bare branches is it ok to prune and back and how far!!!!
it looks like it needs a good cut!

Alexandre is right - the time to prune summer-flowering shrubs like Weigela and Philadelphus is immediately after they have flowered. It's too late now. They do respond to hard-pruning, so you could cut it back next year quite a lot without harm..

Good Morning Lady Gardener you can give a good Spring tidy and my summer you will have a lovely show on your Weigella.
I pruned mine just after flowering .
