Can anyone tell me what this plant is that has appeared in my tub . it looks like some sort of brassica, perhaps broccoli, but I dont know as I have never seen broccoli growing. There's also a sunflower and a miniature rose thats appeared in there aswell. I think its come from seed from the bird feeder. Is it possible for a rose to grow from the seed? Any replies welcome!......Thanks :o)

I will retract my suggestion that it was in the tub last year. We have just been removing flowers from a number of our brassicas sown this year. This is unusual and I am blaming the peculiar weather for this happening.

Probably a bird ate a rose hip last fall, and left the seed in your tub. Nice that it turned out to be a miniature!

Thankyou to you all for your very helpful replies.
Bulbaholic, thanks for your info on the rape seed. I have looked at it today and it has come out in little yellow flowers, so it does definately look like it is . I will post another pic on tomorrow so you can see what it looks like... :>))
Seaburngirl, thanks for the info on the rose, I wasn't quite sure if it would grow from the seed... :>))
Tugbrethil, thanks too for your info, now I think about thats probably where its come from and not the bird seed.....now why didn't I think of that!!! :>))

Defintely a brassica. If it came from the bird feed then it is probably oil seed rape. All brassicas are biennial so it was in the pot last year.
