Orchid insecticide

What kind of insecticide can I use on the compost of my phalaeonopsis orchids? I have found thin white-ish pests about 1 mm long surviving on the surface of their feed water, which I re-use. (No doubt you will tell me this is very naughty practice but it has worked well for a few years now.)

I think that maybe it would be better to repot your orchids, washing off the bark compost and replacing it with fresh. I would also give up re-using the feed water. It appears to have caused the problem you now have.
i wouldn't use insecticide, not knowing what the pests are, especially indoors.
Sorry, but I have thought about this and came to this conclusion! I hope you haven't got too many orchids!
