I took new strawberry plants from adults last year and grew them on. The full grown plants were planted out this spring but they have failed to produce any significant crop. Do I need to keep them on for another year?

Strawberry plants have a life span of about 3 yrs. The first year they fruit a little, the second year is the best for quantity, and that's the time to take the runners, the third they start to diminish that's the time to replace them with the runners.
