I planted agapanthus around our pond 4 years ago and each year they flowered except this year all I have is leaves. Should I just leave them and hope they flower next year or is it time to dig them up.

Yes, I was going to say its a bit early - mine are just beginning to show buds, and I swear they're later this year anyway, probably because of the cool conditions during this month.

I've found that they don't flower in the year after a poor summer. I reckon they need a good baking to form a flower bud for the next year. And we all know what last summer was like....

Has another plant grown and overshadowed them? This would inhibit flowering too.

I hesitate to say this, but mine are budding - on the other hand, I don't think last year was a bad summer, though I think in the south we did rather better than other parts of the country.

they tend to flower better when congested. so I would leave them alone. Dont know why they wouldnt flower this yr but mine are only just producing buds.
