This plant, two leaves, already about a foot tall, has popped up amongst the thriving plug Fuchsias. Friend or foe? Bin it or pot it up and plant out later? Shade or what?

Looks like a wild arum to me too. Depends how much space you have a whether you like it or not so far as keeping it goes.

It looks like Arum maculatum, Lords and Ladies, a lovely plant in a woodland border.

Must like a bit of shadiness then. Thanks Eggboy.

If it were me I'd just pop it into an out of the way spot.

I think I might let it take its chances on the edge of the tiny back lawn with the trees and camellias behind (Woodland edge)? and see if it gets those lovely red berries eventually, if it survives......if not curtains; if it survives being moved of course, and the dryness there.

I think this is a wild Arum type lily and I would bin it? But I may be wrong see what the others say?
