Bamboo is a prolific and invasive grower you shouldn't need to feed it it will grow through tarmac and break up concrete if planted in the ground. Best kept in large pot.

I have never heard of anyone giving bamboo anything apart from weedkiller because it has become such a menace.

In pots it may need feeding, since it has little volume to draw from, and is watered more often. If the growth slows down, and the foliage turns yellowish, I would use a feed with proportions near 3-1-2--such as 18-6-12, 13-4-8, etc.--and follow the directions for pot plants. Clumping bamboos--such as Fargesia species--in the ground may need a similar feed to form a solid hedge in a timely manner.
