Can I cut Winter Jasmine to encourage growth next year?

Its finished flower now so can i cut it 2 shape 2 encorage more growth&flowers 4 nex year?

only had the Winter Jasmine afew months & it had some dead wood on it so i broke them few branches off,il give it trim2mrw now as ineed a break been busy out in garden again 2day:D

MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR HAS ONE AND IT CERTAINLY TAKES OVER ,ITS NOT BEEN CUT BACK FOR A YEAR AND ALREADY ITS HALF COVERED THE GARAGE,WHICH REMINDS ME ,I MUST SEE IF HE NEEDS A HAND WITH THE CUTTING BACK AS HE IS GETTING ON YEARS, LOL. GOOD JOB HE CAN TAKE A JOKE ..SEEYA.
