Is it safe to move papaver poppies at this time of the year - June/July?
I want to move a clump from the front to the back of the border. They have passed flowering but I notice that they are beginning to develop a little new growth at the crown.

yes you can but water freely until well established. If you leave any bits of root behind they will regrow in the same place as well as the new place where you want them.
