I would like to have this shrub identified and some information about it's care

The leaves are smooth with blunt serrated edges with clusters of red berries beneath. It may or may not be relevant that it is in Ukraine.

Thanks Pete. I now know it is called Ardisia Crenata. I don't know if we have it in England but I have seen one here in Ukraine and its beautiful.

Ah, a name! I'll run off to Google and look it up, in a minute. By the way, you're coming up as being in Hampshire, UK - holiday/working in Ukraine? (Sorry, just being nosey!!)

Not holiday. Have a look at www.hopenow.org.uk and www.kompaspark.com and you'll see that I head up a charity there working among orphans and homeless children. Just got back to U.K. today.

Next question
Hi Vic - Just thought I'd respond as no-one else has. No idea on the plant, I'm afraid, and obviously no-one else has any ideas either else they'd all be jumping in with suggestions! Although I feel I've seen it before somewhere... Could you get a slightly clearer picture? That might help. Anyway, welcome to (a strangely silent!) GOY
