We bought a Clematis Nelly Moser & planted it to the side of our house climing up a wooden fence. It flowered beautifully for the first year but for the last 3 years it has grown well & looks healthy but as soon as it gets to about 6 ft tall it withers & dies suddenly without producing any flowers. Any ideas why?

It might be clematis wilt - if you don't notice a stem starting with it, the whole plant collapses, so next year, keep a close watch - at the first sign of a wilted stem, remove it from the base and hopefully it won't all succumb.

How do I say thanks?
