I got this plant at the grocery store here in southeastern Idaho today, there was another one with white blooms on it, it has velvety leaves like an african violet, but the blooms are more petunia/bell shaped.

It is a Florists Gloxinia or Sinningia. It is a member of the same family of plants as the African Violet....Gesneriads.
They grow very much the same way as African violets and require the same care.
