Can I grow a buddleia from a cutting or from seeds now (Jan / Feb)
By Miniman

I have to vacate a place where I have a large (10ft or so) buddleia and want to be able to grow one or more in the 'wild' area we have made at our new home as they attract butterflies where it is now and we need them in our wild area

As Doctorbob1 says but also Collect some seeds from the tree and spread them about the area where you want the new ones to grow, No need to cover them , let nature sort them out, so many seeds aavailable there is always a chance of success.

This is very easy to propagate. Cut pencil-thick, healthy twigs off and push them into the ground. Keep them watered and they should sprout.

Take some cuttings with you from the 10ft. Buddleja, you may find self set seedlings around your garden.
When you have settled into your new home, put the cuttings in the place you want your new Buddleja to grow.
