Try taking some of the leaves off to let the light in. I had my first ripe ones last week, but that was early, normally it's the last week in July. Good luck, what sort are you growing ?

don't take any leaves off. All you are doing is depriving your plant of the necessary equipment for photosynthesis.
Light is not needed for ripening tomatoes. It's warmth that counts.
The only leaves that should be removed are damaged lower leaves up to the first truss.
Tomatoes ripen according to when the plants were sown.
None of mine have ripened yet because i started them late March.

I would gently bend the tops over, and train them downward. That's how they do them in commercial greenhouses!.

Hi Lousiedoo I will look forward to up dates, I think any plant needs light, for the last 50 yrs of growing toms i've always removed some leaves, but i don't profess to be an expert, having had no training , only trial and error.

If they are too tall , pinch the tops out after the 6th truss. Are you feeding them?and keeping well watered? Have you got any ripe ones yet. ?
