We have just had our gutters cleaned and the soil which was collected is very fine and looks as if it would be ideal for spreading on the lawn with sand and seed. Any problems?

Weed seeds, dirt from the roof, atmospheric pollutants brought down by the rain ..... All of these have become concentrated in the dirt from your gutter. It is OK to spread it thinly on your borders etc but I wouldn't advise using it for anything special.
