my runner beans have produced a fair amount of leafage - but no flowers, let alone beans. would this have anything to do with the dry spring experienced in many parts of the south of Britain ?

when did you plant them out.....still a bit early for beans.
I never feed mine, soil preparation gives you all you need. Nature will provide the flowers when it's ready.
Just keep your beans moist at all times.

Are they in enough light? Mine have only had flowers for a couple of weeks and are only just producing beanlets! Try feeding with tomato food to encourage flowering. Also, you don't mention which part of UK you are in. This would help us with more accurate answers. Add location to your profile.
