Thanks for that. I was just concerned that the same rule would apply to rhubarb as applies to roses.

Just make sure you put plenty of well rotted manure in the hole when you plant... this will help to get the rhubarb going. Then each year put well rotted manure round the crown in autumn but not actually touching the crown.
