Why not give up trying and use it as a great opportunity to create a bog garden? There are so many great plants that love these conditions and it would be a real feature instead of a problem!

cool Spritz that would mean my entire garden could be used as a bog garden lol, mine is still really bad .
in this weeks Amateur Gardening there is an article about drainage, this might help you Mick

Oh, Eileen, I thought you might have dried up a bit by now! Can you still float ducks down the path? LOL

Sorry - it's not funny - I mustn't joke. I hope your garden dries up soon. How's your weather?

today its actually quiet nice, ive just been told its 15 degrees out there. the forecast for the rest of the week isnt good tho, flood warning in effect. i really will have to do something about the drainage in this garden , hopefully soon too.

What did you have in mind? Put in pipes? Is your soil clay, Eileen?

we think we have figured it out this evening Spritz. we are going to dig a trench , put a pipe down leading to the main shore. place it at an angle so the water runs to the shore.
well thats what i am going to try first. hopefully it will work.
