THIS IS ANOTHER ONE SEVERAL OF YOU IDENTIFIED AS CORAL BELLS HEUCHERA AND I THINK IT'S QUITE LOVELY. HE THINKS IT'S A WEED CALLED HERB ROOT ~ GERANIMUM ROBERTIANUM AND IM NOT SO SURE HE'S RIGHT. I HATE TO PULL IT OUT. WOULD IT BE OK TO JUST LET IT BLOOM AND IF IT TURNS OUT A WEED, TAKE IT OUT THEN. IT IS CONTAINED IN A WOODEN BOX. I COULDN'T FIND INFORMATION USING THAT TITLE.

Herb Robert is G. robertianum, Annual and a bit thuggish. Let it flower, but not seed.

I don't think it is heuchera-much more likely to be herb robert. Does a lot of seeding around the garden but its not unpleasant. I have a lot of it whether I like it or not!

I dig them up as soon as I see them - they have quite pretty small pink flowers, but seed everywhere, unfortunately. They are really weeds, Harli.

Thank you, I think I will remove it then because I wouldn't be able to tell when it's seeding and my yard is quite full of plants as is.

If it is Herb Robert it will have a very distinctive smell when handled.Difficult to explain but sort of clinical!!! Niether pleasant of unpleasant.

yep i would agree, not one i would let grow in my garden once it gets in - it gets everywhere, cracks in pavement, in your path, over takes any pots, luckly not hard to pull out tho - you just have to keep doing it!

I've just been looking for Herb Robert (Geranium Robertianum) because I am about to use it in a particular fast for breast cancer. It's an amazing herb. It is used in the Rudolf Breuss Total Cancer Cure along with other herbs. It has a degree of radium in it and is good if a person has had chemotherapy. I'm always amazed what grows under our feet....... Isn't nature AMAZING! Here's further info.
Action-=haemostatic, astringent, anti-diarrohetic, styptic, anti-diabetic.
Uses-Bleeding throughout the gastrointestinal tract. Bleeding from the nose, mouth, throat.
Irritable bowel! Used as a cleansing wash for discharging ulcers.
Preparation-Tea: 1 oz to 1 pint of boiling water. Infuse 15 mins. Drink half to 1 cup freely.
Poultice; for rheumatism.
Info from Bartrams Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine by Thomas Bartram.
You might have to look up what some of these words mean. But it's probably best to talk with a herbalist before deciding if this IS the same herb...... Best wishes.
