Hallo all. This is more or less 2 questions in one. I am growing cucumbers, there are loads of flowers and also signs of small fruit, but there are loads and loads of leaves, should I cut some of them off so that light gets to the fruit?. I am also growing pumpkins...I have some nice big ones already..well the size of a small football, here again there are loads of leaves as well, should I cut some of these off to give the pumkins more light?. Thanks in advance for any answers. Have a happy gardening weekend...despite the weather.

I wouldn't cut off any of the leaves. Cukes don't need sun to ripen--in fact, you don't actually want them to ripen, since they are tough and bitter, then. Pumpkins need all their leaves to grow, and when it is time for them to ripen, they will be showing above the leaves, anyway.
