I have never heard of a black Physalis but it is what I would call Chinese Lanterns, normally an orange colour.

I wondered if it was a mis-identified Nicandra physaloides. I looked at the first 2 questions asking this before there were any answers this morning and have not seen any change in the spelling Bamboo.
