Hmmmm I just keep mine on the windowseal all year round the leaves always grow back red .

Must be very little artificial light getting to it, then, Charlie. Lucky! Usually, when I haven't done the darkness treatment, they didn't come into full bloom until St. Patrick's day, if at all. : )

well it's a North facing conservatory ..so not sure maybe I'm blessed ....

Keep it in a closet or box for 14 hours of complete, unbroken darkness every night for 8-10 weeks. Even a flash of artificial light during this process could delay bloom.
