I'm always up about 6.30 ish !!!
If you edit this and add a close-up of the second one it'll be easier to identify it.

The first one is Bidens Bur marigold I post a photo of mine yesterday and the 2nd is a Potentilla.

Hi , yes just looked at Biden online and it does look exactly like the one I have, as for a potentilla, mine isn't a shrub its a perennial, if that helps. I have got it on a cane. will try and do a close up.... here goes, no don't know how to do it .Sorry will try and post another photo.

Pdb Shrubs are perennial! I would also say it is a Potentilla.

Hi MoonGrow Yes I know they are but this mystery plant of mine dies back each year and I may be corrected but I thought shrubs didn't. Just a bit more of a description is that if I took the cane away it would flop over and the stems are bendy, not hard like my other potentillas are.

Take a look at Potentilla 'Gold Star' and Potentilla megalantha 'Gold Sovereign' Pdb.

Thanks you Drc, mine looks the same as the Gold Sovereign. I was just flicking through a T&M leaflet and came across a Potentilla Monarchs Velvet and the leaves are the same as mine. Thanks to everyone who answered. :-)
