I have 2 plum trees at least 30 years old and a garden of about 1 acre. I am not a gardener but I am trying. The plum trees are badly situated but I can't move them easily. Can I take cuttings from them and how do I do it.

Cuttings don't often work, but if you start some seeds from their fruit, you could graft twigs from them onto the seedlings in early spring of, say, 2013--Plant seeds this year's harvest, seeds sprout next spring, seedlings old enough to graft the following spring.
