Hi can anyone help me identify a strange grey crusty coral like growth on my hedging particularily privet, there is no die back and the hedge is in otherwise good condition, but the growth is spreading rapidly is it some form of lichen?
Thanks Jojo

Yes, it will be a lichen. It is nothing to worry about and indicates good air quality.

I believe it is lichen. I get it on my Cotoneaster horizontalis. In fact it was what brought me to GOY and my very first question. Welcome to GOY.
