Hi Stevie i.o.w here.
Why does my otherwise healthy seven year old Tree Paeony refuse to flower. It flowered once five years ago. I have grown healthy plants from the seeds of that one flowering these have not flowered either. Some off the young plants are in pots some are like the parent in the ground. Any ideas.

It may be that the one in the ground isn't in fertile, rich soil - they like a lot of composted materials around their roots, such as composted horse manure, etc, and also require free draining soil, but don't want to get too dry, in full sun and sheltered. You obviously can't add manures to the potted ones, but try helping out the one in the ground with a good mulch of well rotted organic material, first ensuring that the ground is damp beneath.
