I want to replace some fencing that runs down one side of our garden with a hedge; partly to improve the appearance but mainly to help with the waterlogged border in front of it which I am sure is a result of the original hedges been taken out in the first place. Any suggestions as to what to go for? Do I play safe & go for privet (green or golden) or try something else? It has to be compact (width wise) but I want height of 6' at least. Any thoughts?
