i have a beautiful white lilac tree in my new garden..we discovered just how beautiful when it flowererd earlier on,but now flowers have gone im left with browned spikes.they have got little green almost bud like pods? on them,do i need to do anything to these or leave them to nature to do her thing?

No, you can just leave them, they're the seed cases formed from the pollinated flowers. If you don't like them and can reach, you can trim them off and next year, clip the flowers off as they fade and it won't happen at all.
