I planted my Alliums as bulbs last year and they all have wonderful seed-heads at the moment. Should I leave these for the birds, or can I plant them?
Also, are they edible?
Thanks,

« Hi there .. i don't get on here much but could anybody tell me what Clematis...
The seeds (little brown seeds) do germinate quickly, but it takes years for them to flower (3-6 years), so you will end up with loads of leaves for a number of years. These are edible...kind of chive/onion taste. Not sure if birds eat the seeds - could add them to a mix of bird seed and try.
