I have a hedge that has been cut back aggressively, how long before it grows back

What type of hedging are we talking about, if it were leylandii then going into the old wood means it will not regrow, if it were to be Privet, hawthorn, holly, escalonia, beech, then these will repond, please let us know the type of hedging you have.

I have just had a look at some pictures and it is a privet. This has not been trimmed carefully is has been chopped with a chainsaw by the looks of it.

Dont worry, privet is so robust and always comes back from being slaughtered, give it say three weeks and you will start to see tiny green buds forming, once these break then it soon picks up speed.

What species are there in your hedge? Our answers will be different depending on what you have. Some evergreens don't ever grow back, while others do.
