yes you can.
is it in a pot or in the ground? is it a hardy one or a tender one. upright or trailing one. all these will affect how you treat it but basically:
if its in a pot then you need to bring it under cover/frost free before the first frosts. it will lose its leaves no matter waht and then re sprout next year. if it is in the ground then you may have to mulch around it.
to be on the safe side I would take several cuttings of it now so you have some spares next year. they will be fine in a cool room/unheated spare room.
