How long has it been there. When I tried to get rid of one which was overtaking the rockery, had the devils own job to get it out.

Not sure it will, but if you do move it make sure the roots have a good soaking and that it is going into suitable soil.

Try to take as much of the soil it is planted in with it to its new hole, which you should prepare before hand.

Make sure you get all the root out or like ours it may return. Also move it on a cool day LOL

Is it still looking good ? They usually look bare in the middle after three years or so and only worth propagating from rather than keeping.

Pimpernel, some of them regenerate very well after harsh pruning, especially if you do half one year and half the next - worth a try. I would be pessimistic about moving a big one but you'll never know if you don't try.

They do move very easily, i have moved many Hebes over the years of varing sizes, however the big hebes like yours can sometimes be difficult to take, when moving hebe you will have a huge fiberous rootball, you need to dig all the way round the plant, then i use a matock and gradually leaver the hebe out, trust me moving a 4x4 is a big job, plenty of water will be required before lifting and once planted, would it be better to start again or even try and propagate.
